The Woodlands Hideout : Sandy, Oregon

The Woodlands Hideout is a small intentional retreat space, recently featured in Dwell. Designed and created with so much love, and with the hope that guests could immerse in the beauty of the natural world, but still offer some cozy and more essential comforts. You will love the large windows, the wood stove, and the calming aesthetic. Although the footprint of the space is small, we designed the experience to be outward focussed, so feels very expansive with the towering pine trees in view.

As the tiny house movement has built more momentum, we’ve seen them popping up everywhere. Lately one of the most exciting collaborations has been between the tiny house and the short-term rental market. We all love a good Airbnb or VRBO but now we have the option of living out our tiny house dream even if it’s just for a weekend. This new series of Envy will feature these tiny house/vacation rental love children. We hope you like it!

The Woodlands Hideout : Sandy, Oregon

What do Rachel and Rico want you to know about them?

We are photographers and designers based out of Portland. We love traveling, good food, taking pictures, and experiencing community. The neighborhood is a mostly quiet rural / residential neighborhood. There is that chance that you may hear some farm related / animal noises, as our neighbors do have animals.

What are the accommodations like?

The Woodlands Hideout is a small yet very intentional and modern space. It was designed to be a minimalist take on the writers cabin, and designed to draw one’s attentions outward to its surroundings. Nestled on a lush and wooded property the Hideout is surrounded by towering old growth pines and giant ferns.

What do others have to say about their experience?

“This modern cabin was the perfect weekend getaway. Nestled right in the woods, it was private, clean, cozy and quiet. Loved having dinner at the picnic table just outside the cabin. Bed was super comfy, and was awesome waking up next to the giant window that looks right into nature. Hosts were communicative, helpful, and flexible with check-in. Would definitely stay here again.” Andrew
