Place yourself right in the beauty of the land and nature in this cozy tiny home at Perkins’ Good Earth Farm. The tiny home has a loft bedroom, bathroom with shower and composting toilet, kitchen, sitting area, and deck. You’ll be surrounded by organic vegetable fields, 11 acres of woods, walking trails–and within perfect view of both the sunrise and sunset. You’ll also have easy access to our farm store where you’ll find fresh fruits & veggies, homemade soups & salads and so much more.
As the tiny house movement has built more momentum, we’ve seen them popping up everywhere. Lately one of the most exciting collaborations has been between the tiny house and the short-term rental market. We all love a good Airbnb or VRBO but now we have the option of living out our tiny house dream even if it’s just for a weekend. This new series of Envy will feature these tiny house/vacation rental love children. We hope you like it!
Perkins Farm Tiny Home : De Motte, Indiana
What does Julie want you to know about her property?
My husband Dan and I co-own Perkins’ Good Earth Farm, where we grow certified organic vegetables for our neighbors, community, other farms, and restaurants. Dan manages the crops, and I manage our farm stand, CSA, and farm kitchen.
What are the accommodations like?
The cozy bedroom is in the loft, accessible by a short staircase with handles for support. The sitting area is made up of a comfortable day bed/bench with beautiful throw pillows and a cozy blanket. The kitchen includes a small refrigerator, two-burner gas stove, microwave, sink and drying rack, coffee pot, tea kettle, and all the cooking basics. Our bathroom includes a compost toilet (directions included—it’s easy to use!) and shower. Fluffy white towels and wash clothes, shampoo, conditioner and body soap are also provided. Step right outside your door onto a deck with a table and chairs. Directly next to the tiny home we provide a grill and picnic table.
What do others have to say about their experience?
“The tiny house and property are amazing! The instructions to find it/get in were easy and it is SO cute. It seemed bigger inside than we expected. The kitchen had everything we needed, there were instructions for the composting toilet, and the hosts were friendly and responsive. We stayed one night and loved walking the trails on the property. We had an amazing view for the sunset, a campfire (you can buy a bundle of wood for $5), and a clear night for stargazing. The bed was comfy and the temperature in the tiny house was good. The property is so beautiful – we loved walking around to see what was starting to grow in the greenhouses. The little shop was so cute too! We heard/saw tons of birds, including a wild turkey, and loved petting the two farm cats (one watched the sunset with us!). We loved our visit and definitely plan to make another trip in the future.” Bridget
